Ven. Bro. Bonaventure Thelen First Alexian Brother in the United States and founder of the first Alexian hospital in Chicago - Born Dec. 12, 1825, at Bittburg (Eifel), Germany. Entered the Community Dec. 7, 1854. Died an edifying death July 9, 1898, after a most painful illness, at the Motherhouse in Aix-La-Chapelle. R.I.P.

Pater Quirinus Bank, Superior-General of the Community from 1886 - 1906. Pater Paul Overbeck, Present Superior-General of the Alexian Community, who has since his election, in 1906, three times favored the hospital with a visit. Pater Clement Walrath, Superior-General of the Alexian Community from 1860-1886.

Ven. Bro. Simon Petry, the only surviving Bro. who entered the Community in the little hospital on Schiller Street. Ven. Bro. Anthony Dold, Died Jan. 17, 1898, after having for over 30 years collected alms for the support of poor patients in the hospital. Ven. Bro. Cyprian Goeser, Master of Novices for the past 17 years, and the first native American Brother to join the Community.
